Default Hytech Replica and Exhaust Question

So I'm going to get a Hytech Replica Header. I know that the header has longer tubing than my stock header, therefore eliminating my cat. I thought of a way to deal with it, but I just wanted to ask you guys if it's a good idea or not.

I plan on getting a Carsound hi-flow cat, and then customizing my own exhaust to the right size so it can fit. I also plan on buying my own muffler to put on.

So I guess my main question is, is this a good idea? I'm sure I'll be able to save some money this way, but my problem is the custom exhaust. I have heard that even though it is a cheap way to have an exhaust that will fit, but custom made exhausts are not as good as exhausts that you buy? I heard that it can rust, among other things. So can anyone help me out? I appreciate it :]

Ohh thanks!

So do stainless steel pipes work just as well as any other aftermarket exhaust pipe? Or is there some sort of special mechanic to it that I don't understand :[

Also, if anyone knows, about what length do you think I'll need to get the pipe for? :]

Thanks again!

A "custom" exhaust is not your only option. You can also simply select any regular exhaust you like, and then trim the length of the B-pipe in order to accommodate the longer header. It's a very simple procedure.
