stainless brake line/new caliper question....
hey guys...
i have a 98 civic with stainless steel brake lines.
i need to change a caliper, and i know with rubber lines, you can just squeeze them shut with a vice grip of something, so you wont have to re-bleed all the brakes.
i want to know if this is possible to do wth steel lines. and if it is, will there be any sort of drawbacks. i do not want to damage my lines, im just uncertain of the flexibility of these lines.

That sucks. I don't think it's possible to put a line lock or similar device on a stainless line without damaging it. That's its whole purpose- not to flex. I would just be prepared to quickly swap everything over once you crack that line loose. I know that sounds like a pain, but it might be your only option. You might try to run a small hose up to the reservoir from the bleeder, but I would avoid opening the
reservoir whenever possible.
Man, I hadn't ever thought about that kind of problem.
