Do a compression test and see how your bottom end is, if test shows signs of worn rings, do a complete bottom end rebuild if you can afford it. New rings and bearings aren't that much if you pull the motor yourself and just have a shop hone the block and assemble the bottom end.

all-mtr-teg is right you should def be fine just have the shop do a compression test and they will tell u wether or not ur good to just do a rebuild or if u need more or the block is no good u can also have them test it for any signs of stress cracks or anythign. as long as u go to a good machine shop you will be fine.

Don't take it to a shop. I live 20 minutes away, and will do a compression test for a six pack of Rolling Rock. And yes, I have done it on a DA

Before spending 1000+ dollars on cams, valvetrain, etc I would do some research its really not worth the money unless you plan on building other parts of the motor for an all motor setup which in the long run is very costly. Look into turboing your car, it can produce alot biger HP numbers than cams and still be a reliable daily driver for the fraction of the cost of a all motor setup.

And compression test is a must for a car with that many miles before doing any serious mods.
