I NEED HONDA HELP ASAP PLEASE!
its gotten cold as hell here where i live in missouri,i noticed when it turned cold that my heat barely did anything.the car is a 1991 honda civic hatchback.we figured out that it was the heatercore,i went to a salvage yard and got a heatercore.yesterday it was blowing sorta warm air,i replaced the thermostat thinking it may be that.i tore the dash out took the heater system all apart put the new core in and put everything back together fired the car up and now it blows COLD air,i have a 2 year old daughter and i cannot be driving a car with no heat any help will be greatly appreciated,thank you for looking.
where is the one inside located? im going to tear it back apart tomorrow.the valve in the engine bay is in the open position.ive done everything i can try.the hoses that run into the pipes for the heater core get really hot like a coolant hose should but my heat does not work at all.it blows ice cold
it would up be near where the passengers left foot sits, but under the dash... near teh firewall.
if you follow the 2 black cables from your climate control they should lead you to the vents. if you need a pic of where it is.. pm me and ill take one tomorrow

oh,we played with that switch deal do and it changed nothing.i really appreciate the help if you can think of anything else let me know.i have no idea what to do.it seems to be something inside because the lines running from the engine to the lines on the core get nice n hot like they should so something is being retarded inside,i really appreciate your help man

no i just replaced my thermostat yesterday.does anyone know what this is? i found it right behind and kinda below the heater control panelafter laying across my seats and my head up under the dash,it looks like something plugs into it.i have 2 free hanging plugs under there but i was kinda afraid to try plugging anything into it because i have no idea what it is.its approximately 2 inches long.it says denso on it and then a bunch of numbers,then of course made in japan lol.heres a pic.sorry about the quality my phone takes really good pics but its dark outside and i was using a regular mag lite for my light source,i need to invest in a led mag lite

i did it the way i know of,the little valve where the top hose goes to the head,no air,when i crack it open it flows antifreeze like it pours out of the jug
tried it....no change...i really appreciate the tips guys,if anyone can figure out anything else or can maybe tell me what that stupid "mystery box" is let me know
heres a better pic of the relay deal i found,i found the plug that goes to it hooked it up and ran my car for about 20 minutes and still cold air.

i was also wondering what this is for because the cable is un hooked from the back of it.

i have checked every fuse in my car,i dont know what else to do.any help will be appreciated.

From my experience, using the bleeder valve to bleed the system sucks.
I always just take off the radiator cap and let it bubble out of there. Find a funnel that you can shove in there, fill it with coolant, and let it suck down the coolant as it needs it. After it goes through a heat cycle or two, take out the funnel.

have you checked to see if your hot/cold **** is actually opening/closing the valve under hood? that **** pulls a cable thats hooked to a valve that you can find above your rear tranny mount coming out of the firewall. Try manually opening that valve. I bet thats it, on older honda's I've seen that cable snap and valve don't open. Then you don't get hot water through your heater core, and thus no heat... check it out

i agree with this.. as they age, those valves sometimes need to be replaced.
Also, that picture of the vent lever you posted, you will want to have that lever all the way to the left so it is not blowing cold outside air. if it isnt attached to anything, you may check the status of the vent, because if it is open, it will blow cold air even if your heating system now works.

I was going to mention this on my last post. That slider is a selector, you can open it up to bring in outside air. But I thought that was only for the driver's vent?

well i closed the vent that brings in outside air,still nothing we removed this ac cooling deal in the center box under the dash it was full of crud,we put the box back in and it flows a hell of alot better but still dont get hot it blows kinda sorta warm air,to the only thing i can think of is bleeding the coolant system but im not 100% sure how
Take off the radiator cap and start the car. Keep adding coolant, and when it bubbles, add more. They make nifty little funnels that fit the radiator cap. You can just fill the funnel up, and let the radiator take it as it needs.
After it goes through a couple heatcycles (fan on then off again) take out the funnel, and top off the overflow resevoir. DONE!

take one of the hose off the ones that go to the heater core there is one that has coolant going in and other comes out i have heard it can be plunged in side so u can put your garden hose on it and let all the water flush the system then make sure your valves are open the right way for the coolant to go in side oh also that the hose that the coolant come out and see if it actually come out make sure it circulates in the system i had a problem with mine also it would blow kinda right away when u turn it one and then it get colder i dont know why it does that.
