Default question on internal wastegate going click.

the adjustment bolt from the internal wastegate rod was stuck i think because the threead is either too rusted or mess up. when i try to turn the bolt, the whole rod would move and the bolt would go nowhere. then i hear a sound coming from inside the actuator everytime i try to turn the bolt and the whole rod spin. the sound is a clicking sound everytime i turn the rod.
i was wondering what this sound was and could i mess up the wastegate by trying to lossen the bolt?

also i spend like 30 minute trying to losen the bolt and during this process i dunno how many time i turn it but there were a lot of clicks.

after this incident, the bov start acting up the next few days. it was stop going whooseee and flutter like da da da then 30 minute later it would go whooose again. this is shifting at the same rpm everytime. and now the bov just go da da da and it stop coming back to whooose.

i was wondering did the bov took a crap? or did it have to do something with that clicking sound to cause the bov to be like this?

the click from inside the internal gate was probably the spring spinning. or the rod spinning on the spring. the BOV incident in my opinion is unrelated. take the BOV apart and clean it. it may just be dirty and sticking shut.

o ok, at first i thought the clicking could cause some changes to my air pressure which cause the bov to react different under new pressure.

Yes if you broke the diaphragm. Common problem when using force on the rod.

the clicking sound you hear might be your internal wastegate flap not sealing 100% with your turbo. i had the same problem when i changed wastegates. to fix it i just installed some washers between the turbo and the wastegate to "lengthen" the push rod and to tighten the wastegate flam to the turbo.
