you gotta use the original D15 headbolt in that one spot. hope you kept it

if it does not work then you got the wrong bolt, you need the exact bolt that goes in the D15 head and block in that exact spot and IT WILL WORK, if not your doing something wrong

if he wants to spend more money, yes. I say just use the OEM stud and call it a day as long as your not boosting it you'll be just fine

i just checked all the head bolts they are all the same. if you throw the bolts in and not even screw them in that bolt sits higher. then i put the stock head back on and its fine. i ll post some pictures up. if anyone has a mini me please do me a big *** favor and pull the valve cover off and check

well i think i got it figured out if you use a z6 head it will be fine because the b8 and z6 have the same design but if you use a y8 head you need a stud for that last bolt or cut that bolt and i tested that to and you can tightin down to stock torqe specs with out stripin the thread.
i have a stock a6 block with the z6 head...no problems. i personally did my research before choosing b/t the z6 and y8. from what i found out, you want the z6 head with the y8 intake manifold. just a little fyi. not that the y8 head won't do you good, it's just that bench-flow tests show better results with port/polish and valve job on the z6 head.

Incorrect, it's actually the opposite when you use the D16Y8 head on a D-Series 88-95 block. For that one bolt in the upper left corner, you need a head bolt for the D16Y8 head. It's in the FAQ.
