Default y8 mani on a z6?

will it bolt up? any benefits? anything extra i have to change? thanks in advance

Yes; bigger plentum, better flow; not that I know of; no problem.

true, throttle body any bigger, will the head work/help aswell? what head gasket do i need, and what hp will i get?

I don't think so, but I think B-series one's will bolt on.

I'm not sure about the Y8 head check with the SOHC guru's for solid info on that, but head work will make a difference no matter which head you choose to run.

If your only changing the intake mani. there should be no reason the remove the head.

If you are removing the head, from the sounds of it you will just need a head gasket for the D16Z6.

I have no idea, I've never done a comparison.

i know there is no reason to change the head, but i have the whole topend, so i figured what the hell right? might as well waste my money or something before i get bored and go do somehting stupid right? anyways, if the head will just bolt on, then ill do it, but if i gots to buy diff head studs, and a whole bunch a ****, then ill say screw it. either way, your input is appreciated

heres mine i loved it, it felt a bit better in top end


didnt have to chage anything just the fuel rail....using the y8 one too

I was wondering about the differences between the 2 myself.
I drive a EJ8 (D16Y8) and my husband has the D16Z6.

the y8 intake mani flows better than the z6 use an obd-2 head gasket it's metal 96-00 and the head stud are the same.
