Default b16a

hey,my name is josh. im relatively new to the whole honda game. i just traded my camaro for a 92 civic hatch vx. lots of mods but anyway....

it came w/ a b16a(1)? from a 2000 civic SIR. its got stage 1 skunk 2 cams. intake full 5zigen exhaust, and an ems system. called guardian i believe? anyway, what type of hp can i be expecting from this? it also has a red valve cover, which is like the type r. no spraypaint here. dunno if this means anything.

It's a OBDII B16A, which is rated at 168-170 hp (depending where you look) at the flywheel.

No way to tell exactly what the mods will net you as far as hp unless you dyno it.

could it also be a b16b? due to the red valve cover? any way to check?

if the block says b16a then its a b16a. valve covers are interchangeable with others. its only for cool points.

save some money up and buy a b18c1

Thats right.

OP says it way from a 2000 SiR, so it's a B16A.
