disconnecting battery?
Is it safe to take off positive instead of negative while working on the car or in order to reset it? i notice one of my friend usually do it to his car because he said the positive side is easier to take off without a tool. so thats how he reset his motor all the time. so is it safe? i know most people disconnect it on the negative side. Overall its been buggin be because i was taught to take of the negative side.

You're correct. Don't take off the positive terminal, unless you plan on taking the battery out of the car. They require the same "tool" as they both have a 10mm nut on them. Just for your own edification, he's not resetting the engine, he's resetting the ECU.

Removing either terminal will of course remove battery voltage fron the vehicle. The reason the negative is usually disconnected is to avoid shorting the positve terminal to ground if you accidently set a piece of metal in the wrong place or drop a wrench.
