Serious problem need help ASAP
I wired up my friends secondary butterflies, running the pink wire to A17 and the black wire i ran throught the firewall and i spliced it into the ECU ground, i think it is A23 / 24 . Car drove fine, no CEL no sputter, anything.
Anyway car worked fine and all . but after droppin the car back to him and he was bringin me back home the we were doing about 60 and drove into flooded portion of the road. The car didnt stall or anything. However a day later he call me and told me that his CEL came on later that night after driving through the water. he said the speedometer started fluttering, then he said it is dead completely now.. and the CEL comes on if he accelerates hard.
Coould it be my wiring that caused the CEL and speedo to stop or is it the water?
For the ECU ground i cut the wire and used a wire connector to join it back and i inserted the IAB wire.
I think that if i screwed up on the ground the car wouldnt start, and/or the CEL would come on instantly. it wouldnt wait til almost a whole day to come on.. is this correct ?
