today i bought a B&M short shifter and energy suspension shifter stabilizer bushings. I haven't put them in, but i can hardly wait. should this be a huge improvement?

 

it is def a short throw. The throw itself is shortened, its not just the length. Its extremely short. 1st to second is like 1st to neutral.
I've heard not to throw it super fast, but man is it enjoyable. I haven't missed a gear with it yet. But they do "move" a bit from stock. Just don't try to force it back the way you do stock. It takes minimal effort to move it. I did the bushings at the same time. I can't move my shifter at all while its in gear like I could with the stock ones.

doesn't take long to do, just make sure you watch how you took it out and follow directions.

 

Definitely a recommended upgrade. I also have to deal with a JDM Y1 LSD tranny. Damn the throws & gearing is short! Makes for a enjoyable car experience!

 

is it hard to put the shifter and the bushings in? how much time should i expect to spend doing this?

 

should take you an hour. I have a set. I just put a $20.00 shifter in my girlfriends integra and I think it is better than the B&M. Only because the cheapie shifter has a bend in it making it easier to reach.

 

if you know what you're doing..30 minutes..if this is your first time, it will take over an hour. i can change shifters in my car in about 20 minutes..most of that time is jacking it up and putting the car on jackstands.
