Someone show me a dyno chart that explains that. Please?! This is a forum for people to talk about hondas, share tips and ask/answer questions. The fact that you have swapped a gsr motor into your hatch, does not make you the all knowing master of hondas. If you disagree with someones opinion, say it in a respectable manner. Peace

Actually I just think its a Honda thing... Seems to create a lot of ignorance causing people to be closed minded with the inability to appreciate anything, especially anything not Honda...

yea that is definitely a major part of it. right now, i own three hondas but thats just how it worked out. i have nothing against other cars. i mean, i absolutely love hondas, but i can appreciate a good car made by any manufacturer. i love evo's and sti's and g coupes and i love old school muscle cars. hell, i love corollas for what they are. those things are awesome on gas, you cant kill them, and i have actually seen some pretty nice modded ones. i have had a 68 firebird and my brother has had countless camaros, firebirds, galaxies, and other muscle/classic cars. my dad has a '66 barracuda, and my dream project car is a '66 dodge charger with the same white ext/ red int color scheme he has. the bottom line is, a good car is a good car. its the world we live in, where people are close minded and think only what they know and like, is right. this happens anywhere. take for example, people that bash a song, just because of who sings it or what genre it is. if a song can make me move or get me excited its a good song, regardless of genre, or who sings it. the same goes for cars. one thing alone does not define a great car. it depends what you are looking for out of it. few people pick a car just for its 0-60 time. apperance, options, reliability, fuel efficiency, etc. are all factors. sadly, some people on this site think honda-tech.com is only for professional racers and tuners, but in reality, i see this site as a resource for all things honda. a place where someone who has no mechanical experience can learn how to change their oil, or where tuners can exchange tips on how to squeeze the extra 10hp out of their motor and everything in between.

We know all of that already. Or at least most of us SHOULD know that.

However, being that YOU created this thread....would you mind giving the rest of us a little insight as to WHY you decided to create a thread about an issue you're having instead of just going to a moderator after you're off of your trial??

And what do song genres, '66 barracudas, old-school muscle cars, evos, and stis have to do with the matter at hand in this thread?

Spare us your individual opinion on unrelated matters and get to the point!!

Well put, its good to see there are some Honda owners that can appreciate other vehicles for what they are and not what they aren't...

Hey....new guy.....WTF are you laughing at. I completely get his point.

What I don't get is the need to create a thread simply just to rant on what other people have done in this web site.

And I most certainly DO appreciate other vehicles as well as Hondas. But "other vehicles" is not what the '06 Civic forum is supposed to be about.

OP was better off posting this in the General Discussion forum.

This rarely happens on the 350z forums.

Oh okay.....so he was complaining about other people not appreciating HONDAS just cause they're Hondas. I know the OP is trying to make a point....but sadly...making a thread about it isn't going to accomplish anything. People will always still hate on Hondas. Let them. They are the ignorant ones who have their heads filled with saw dust and have a one-trak mindset.

And how is this thread productive?? People both on AND off Honda-tech have been hating on Hondas. We all know that. It will never change.....and it will never end. All we can do is press on and drive the cars that we love to drive. Whether it's a V10 megacar or a nimble little Honda.

Now tell me i'm wrong. Give me an excuse to continue!

Right... Wait... What? Hate on Hondas because they are ignorant? Saw dust and a one-track mindset... Nope, I dont believe that is the original posters original issue... But on that, there are a lot of people here who are ignorant as to what other vehicles are capable of... Torque for instance (especially when speaking of older Civics) and not having to wait for high RPM's to finally get some decent power, especially when the, shall I say "impressive" power only lasts for 2000 RPM's... But that is a totally different topic for a totally different thread...

But yes, we should all just drive the cars we love... But others should be open minded and be able to appreciate a fast and nimble car no matter what it may be... There needs to be more car enthusiasts and less people treating the Honda Civic like its the Koran... EET' EES' DEE' BEST, JOO' DON' BELEVE' ME *KABOOM*

wow! that is really thick.

You need to get the facts and spend some time with genuine Muslims instead of stereotyping, accepting erroneous info from 3rd parties and believing that the extremists represent the group as a whole or what Islam is even about.

I agree with the original post that started this topic. I used to visit this site multiple times a day because I am interested in others opinions, what they've done with their civics, and interesting discussion. It is remarkable how much it has changed, its now a couple times a week at most visit.

Now it has become overly technical, a "use the search function dumba$$" response instead of answering a question, people with superiority complexes, argumentative, and unwelcome to NEW Honda people trying to share their experience with their Hondas and LEARN things about their cars.

There is no longer a post your ride pic thread to this page (which I feel is a HORRIBLE decision) which was the sole reason I visited this site. I don't think it makes sense to have to search through the appearance section filtering through S2000's, Integras, Accords, Fits and every other Honda to find pics of what i'm interested in. Especially when it used to be consolidated into this page. Its reverse logic, "instead of compiling things, lets clump it all together and make THEM find what they want". What next, "thats a window tinting forum question" or, "thats a dyno section remark". Aren't retrofitted headlights a Acura TSX Forum post, its not even a Civic headlight!!! (sarcasm).

I first click on the posts where there is that photo icon just to SEE others passion for their cars. I second click on others questions to find answers myself or to help others. This SHOULD be a car enthusiast page, but now its locked down into a dyno/ k20 PWNS/ tire pressure site. Ease up, let people share their joy for Civics and chill out.

This is supposed to be a technical forum. If you feel that strongly about it recreate a thread in appearance and cosmetic forum as many other people have done. We already have the official FG and FA squad threads in here do we really need another tech-less picture thread? I don't even like those, I think those should disappear to the appearance and cosmetic forum too.

Aren't those locked? I guess you are right though, i'll have to bookmark the appearance section rather than this one, or just keep to the other Civic site since this is no longer an "all things 2006 civic" page anymore.

Actually, I think THAT is the jerkoff thing he was talking about. Sincerely though, thanks for the link, but the rest wasn't necessary. As you quoted myself, I said "to this page". Your link is under the appearance section which isn't THIS page. F it though, got the link, bookmarked, bu-bye now.

thats where most of the "jerk-offs" post at though.

but i completely see the OP's point, i felt the same way when i first signed up but i got used to it. im sure people are just rude on the web because they will most likely never see these people in real life. i dont flame people unless they are really really asking for it, and i honestly dont remember the last time. in short, just takes time getting used to. on HT that is.

btw i think we should have a rambling thread just like the s2000 forum. that would help everyone get to know other members and maybe even reduced the flamage

i must say i pretty much felt the same way when i joined. but it was reiterated to me that this is a tech forum so if you state something you better be able to back it up 100%. so, youll get used to....i still love the info on this forum (for the most part)

The OP didn't create this post to make a generalized point. He got picked on by another member and decided to create a new thread to rant about it....

But maybe we do need an official rambling thread anyway.

I agree. While i was in the decision making process before i bought, i used to love looking at all of the pics to provide me with some ideas/possibilities that were available for future mods. Now that i have my ride and a good idea of what i want to do with it , thanks to those pics, i really don't feel the need to look at them. But i DO understand that their are others following in my footsteps looking for the same reason that i once did. I wasn't ignorant that fact. There is something for every at every level one on this site. If your expertise has surpassed a specific, move on and don't condescend.

This thread was created cuz a guy needed to vent. Theres nothing wrong with venting, in fact, its quite healthy. Hell, i would vented to eventually, but he did it FOR me. "flaming", as you guys put it, is out of control on alot of threads here. Be bigger than your ego and realize that some people don't have the time, or are just too lazy, to press the search button. SO: hold back on your negative comments, and allow someone else to drop the knowledge for them. Learn, not burn.
