JDM & USDM h22a tune up parts the same?
might sound like a stupid question but ill be ordering a jdm h22a to start my h2b project for next season. And im wondering if i can just buy a OEM timing belt and water pump from honda. Or if i need to buy specific parts seieng it is a JDM engine and not USDM?

If he is asking h22 questions, he's welcome here.
90% of H22 parts are the exact same from here to japan, the thermostats are a definite difference, among other small things, but as far as timing components and water pumps, you're fine.

How different? Is there a special place to get thermostats for a jdm engine?

I'm not sure what the stipulation is honestly with the thermostats, I got one that ended up working just fine, but some people either have bigger tstats on their jdm engine or the parts store gives them something much too small....
I'm thinking it may be that AT h22s have the different size thermostat, but I can't be sure on that....

About half the time with imported engines I need to bring in the thermostat to match since going by part numbers it does not fit from the dealer.
Everything else is the same except the internal vs external coil distributor cap.

Well I had to do a H23a1 swap to h22a and there was a bunch of parts that had to be swapped out to make it easier.
Took Off H23a1 and put onto h22a
1. Manual tension conversion
2. Fuel Rail
3. Top Radiator Thermostat(it had a sensor on it I needed)
4. Dizzy

The thermostat housing is different, my O-ring was leaking where the Water pipe fits into the t-stat housing. Bought a USDM one from the local dealer, and it was probably 1/2 inch too small diameter.
