Use EM1 (1999-00 Civic si) mounts, as for the wiring just get a p75 ecu (obd 2 LS) and it just plugs right up and start it.

Use an OBDI engine harness. Life will be easier.

what im confused about is what runs from the motor to the ECU

like do i use the OBD1 harness that fits my B18a ?

and then after that what does it run to ? i doubt it will tie in with the plug leading back to the ecu ?

to narrow it down how will i hook up the new OBD1 harness to my existing wiring on my EK (97 civic EX)

Please disregard what other people have said besides the mounts, that's partially true.

Use the harness that came with your car. you will need to only extend a few plugs like o2 sensor. you cannot use an obd1 civic or integra harness because those engine harnesses do not have the ECU plugs that go all the way through the firewall.

As for mounts, you need the driver side EM1 bracket and block mount, rear EM1 "L" bracket (i believe) and a 94+ b series front tranny mount. the top tranny is stock civic.

It is the same as swapping any bseries motor in your car except for vtec. search!!!

so my D16 wiring harness will hook right up to all the sensors on the b18B1 head ?

the b18b head is obd1 (if im not mistaken ) and my cars obd2 how would that work ?

and what about using hondata ECU to tune with

go to the FAQ section for you car, scoll down to motor swaps and there is a link to a detailed obd2 to obd1 motor swap thread. you will find out every thing you need to know. I just completed a similar swap but my car is a 98 ex coupe and I swaped in a jdm obd1 b16. most people will tell you its hard and just get a obd2 motor but its really simple, i did my in less than a week and it was my first swap. so good luck to you

go to honda-tech home page, then click on (honda civic/del sol (1992 - 2000), on the next page click on (NEW FAQ'S INDEX - 92-00 civic/ del sol) this page will have nearly everything you need about your car so bookmark or add it to your favorites. just scoll down to swap information and click on the link (obd1 engine into a obd-2 civic or integra. this is by far the best how to for your kind of swap. oh yeah when you do a search on this site dont only searched in the recent content, also search in the archived content which will give you better results.
