Default issues with the speedo

so i was having problems with my speedo bouncing and then it just died. i managed to narrow it down to the powersteering speed sensor, on which the bracket simply broke loose. yea i thought it was wierd too, so anyhow, i just replaced it. worked for about 15 miles and then the speedo started jumping up and down again. i'm guessing that my new psss is about to take a dump again... so does anyone know why there would be tension on the psss drive gear? or even what gear drives it in the tranny? any help would be greatly appreciated!

this doesn't answer your question but it could also possibly be a VSS. have you checked that?

yeah, the vss mounts on top of the psss and is driven by it... stupid me the first time i changed it out not realizing the psss was broken. i'm pretty sure it's a mechanical problem inside the tranny but i dunno
