Default question for crome users

Is it normal for the distributor to looks so advanced even though the timing gun shows that I'm at 16* of timing. I've noticed that everytime I set the base timing that it looks way too advanced for my liking. I've tried searching on pgmfi but couldn't find anything. And I also read that crome's timing values are not really accurate. Is there a fix to that? I dont want to harm my motor because of these bugs on crome. Please help me out. Thanks

for the timing fix. open up crome, enter CTRL+K and enter the following code

If you are using a P30 based rom:
Code:
_rom_fill(0x58e6, 0x590d, 0x00); _rom_fill(0x6a99, 0x6ac0, 0x00);

If you are using a P72 based rom:
Code:
_rom_fill(0x5f7b, 0x5fca, 0x00);

every new map u start u need to enter the above.
