today was raining pretty hard and i was driving and i notice quite a bit of steam is coming off of my hood..

just wondering if this is normal?

after driving i put my hand against the hood and it only felt "warm"

 

I think that's normal. At least I hope it is, mine does the same thing.

 

Its just steam... water on warm metal is going to do it on anything. don't worry about it...

 

Yes this is normal. I live in the Chicagoland area and all the cars i have driven, i see steam coming off the hood when it rains or snows.

 

Yeah, you have to realize that the underbody of your car is not completely covered and if it allows dirt to travel in your engine cabin then it will definitely allow water to travel under also.

Unless its coming from your radiator you are fine.
