Default oil changes

Hey people,

Just wondering if anyone else has run into this situation... I did an oil change at my last service interval and found that only about 2 out of 4 litres of oil drained out of the pan. I thought nothing of it because I know that certain driving styles causes oil consumption. I just recently did another oil change and found that the same amount drained out of the pan this time as well, but I didn't drive the car nearly as hard as the last 5000kms. Is this normal?

um no, have you checked for leaks. If you dont have a leak how are you coming up with the idea of it only being two qt coming out?

Don't you check the oil level on the dipstick at least once in a while between changes?

...or you have a ghost.

Unless you have buildup of sludge equivelent to 2 qts of oil every change. So now you have about 4 qts. of sludge.

....though thats just a theory <-----

hehehehe...i really dont know tho.

There are no leaks anywhere, I've looked all around. I know only 2 are coming out because I buy 4x 1litre bottles to do the fill and refill them whith the old oil when I drain it. I had brought my car into Honda to fix a blown head gasket and this started happening after they changed it. Possibility they did something wrong? I don't normally check the dipstick because everything was fine until now.

You may possibly be burning it.

If you put in four, and get back two... your loosing it somewhere...

Check your oil more frequently, and use a high quality oil to resist burnoff.

If you're not leaking, it's gotta go somewhere, and that's probably through your tail pipe.

shouldnt be the dealerships fault, when u got your hg replaced you completely strengthened the head of your motor. The bottom end is still weak and needs a rebuild. Honda actually recommends getting the bottom end rebuilt after a headgasket but nobody does it because thats pricey ish.
