<FONT SIZE="3">Whats up fellas,
Last week I swapped my tired old single cam out for a 96/97 JDM Integra type R swap and I have been having many issues since I fired it up.
When I first started it up:
-The fuel rail was leaking (turned out I was using the wrong washer on the fuel line)
-It threw code 21 (I needed to wire up vtec which is done now)
-code 14 (had the wrong plug in there)
-code 6 (changed the temp switch)
Aside from the codes, the motor also made very weird screeching noises on the first day it was started. For the next few days, the screeching noise went away, the motor would idle fine and rev fine up to about 5k then cut off BUT, <U>if I hit the throttle to fast, it would bog out/choke and almost shut off</U> Mind you, this whole time I have never diven the car, its just sitting in my driveway.
Today 11-12-07, I wired up the vtec, the harness has already been figured out <U>so now I have NO Check engine light</U> I go to fire the car up, it starts and its sputtering as if it was running on 3cyl's,<U> it also does not rev past like 5k</U>. At this point there are no CEL's so im starting to get annoyed. I pull the spark plug wires out and the wire for cyl. #2 had some water on it so I dried it off thinking this was part of the problem (the motor got washed when i bought it) but the motor is still sputtering, wont rev past 5k (safe mode I guess) and bogs/chokes if I hit the throttle to fast.
I realize this can be a number of things but I dont feel like spending money on new parts until I find the issue.
Car -1993 civic cx
Motor -1997 JDM ITR (B18C) swap
ECU -p73 obd2a ITR w/ jumper harness
<U>HELP!</U>
<FONT COLOR="red">On a side note:</FONT> I did note wire up the knock sensor because I never got a CEL for it, should this be wired up? I doubt this would be the culprit
<FONT COLOR="blue">UPDATE 11-13-07</FONT>
The code finally poped up for the knock sensor today so I just went ahead and wired it up. Car is still in safe mode/sputters/bogs outs when I hit the throttle fast. I checked all the plug wires and they are all getting spark, so it seems that the distributor is working fine right?
<FONT COLOR="blue">UPDATE 11-14-07</FONT>
Not that anyone cares
but I swapped my distributor and wires with another itr unit+wires and its still doing the exact same thing.</FONT>

Ok problem fixed. I started looking around and with the symptoms (no cel's) I figured it had to be ignition or fuel related. I swapped out my dizzy today and the problem persisted so I started looking around at the fuel system, turn out that I was missing the sproket washer on the fuel line going to the fuel rail, made total sence (wouldn't rev high/sputtered=not enough fuel)

Doesn't sound right. The "sprocket washer" wasn't allowing the engine to get enough fuel?

Considering it sounds like you crossed your iat/iacv plugs. You should inspect your intake air temperature sensor. My guess would be that it is damaged/melted and the ecu is not throwing a code as the sensor is simply reporting a false temperature causing you to run rich now that you damaged it :-)
