you cant bore stock b18 sleeves to 84mm. you would need to sleeve the motor.

the biggest you can go on a stock sleeve LS is 81.5mm. If you run aftermarket sleeves, you can go 84mm

lol thats gross.

i wouldnt go over 81.5mm on a stock sleeve, you can go up in the 85mm range on most sleeved motors, depending on if you o ringed or not

The person who told you this information may have failed to mention that you must get aftermarket sleeves for that size bore...its not a huge deal.

What is your horsepower goal? If you have a high goal, I suggest you sleeve the block (and as Schister stated, youre gonna have to anyway, if you go up to 84mm).

5 to 10 psi on an ls/vtec setup like youre about to do will be fine with an 81.5mm bore and aftermarket pistons/rods and a good tune. But when you start puttin some REAL boost to that B18 block, youre gonna put some real stress on the block with that B16 head spinning that much RPM on the stock sleeves due to the LS's 1.54:1 rod-to-stroke ratio.

Sleeve the block, so you can do your 84mm bore. Its the best insurance you can have for your motor. Remember, its all about your horsepower goal, and what you wanna get out of your setup.
