ls bored to 84mm
rite now i have a b18a1 boosted on 5 psi
i am gettin ready to build a b18b with rods and pistons i wunt to go b20 pistons
but i wunted to kno how much boost will the sleeves hold up to.. and should i go with a block gurd???? i also have a b16 head with springs and retainers
thanks for the help i don't plan on builden this motor intill i get all the infostraight

i was always told you could bored a ls to 84mm
i am plaining on getin turbo pistons and rods
i am don't plan on building this intill i get all my info straight thats why i am on here askin

lol thats gross.
i wouldnt go over 81.5mm on a stock sleeve, you can go up in the 85mm range on most sleeved motors, depending on if you o ringed or not

What is your horsepower goal? If you have a high goal, I suggest you sleeve the block (and as Schister stated, youre gonna have to anyway, if you go up to 84mm).
5 to 10 psi on an ls/vtec setup like youre about to do will be fine with an 81.5mm bore and aftermarket pistons/rods and a good tune. But when you start puttin some REAL boost to that B18 block, youre gonna put some real stress on the block with that B16 head spinning that much RPM on the stock sleeves due to the LS's 1.54:1 rod-to-stroke ratio.
Sleeve the block, so you can do your 84mm bore. Its the best insurance you can have for your motor. Remember, its all about your horsepower goal, and what you wanna get out of your setup.
