Im thinkin about boosting my D16Y8 and i was wondering what are some really important things to change or re-do or get stronger of if i plan on boosting ??? appreciate the tips!!

are you looking to keep the car daily or a weekend car?

 

Proper tuning is probably one of the most important and most commonly overlooked aspects of a turbo setup.

 

It will be a daily driver

 

if your looking to make like a high hp y8, i would rebuild the motor sleeved, etc

daily you can piece together a good kit for fairly cheap, and spend some good money on tunning and you will be set...

All depends on what your intentions are. You can piece a crappy one together for 1500+, get a full kit for 3k+, or a custom turbo setup for over 4k. Going turbo is not cheap what so ever if you want it done properly.

I have seen turbo's go for 700+ and the manifold/DT/DP go for 1k+ easy. Dont forget you still need the IC, WG, BOX, Oil/Vac lines etc etc.

 

i KNow they are not cheap at all but i think i will have about 3500 to 4500k maybe even a little more, and idk where really to start getting parts or what i should start doing to get the motor turbo ready and i was looking at an ebay turbo get but its one of the little more expensive ones kinda and idk i just need a little guidence??

 

When all is said n' done, what kind of whp #'s are you looking to get from this motor?

 

im really hoping for at least 300 i would like a lil more but idk
