D series tranny rebuild ?'s
Ok, I am not asking how to take out a tranny from a car, how to open it up and rebuild it, or anything like that. I can look all that stuff up myself. I am not wanting to waste your time with that when there are already articles out there. I am going to rebuild my tranny. It is making the problematic high pitch whine when the clutch is let out. So I am guessing it is the input shaft bearing from what I have read. Now the question I have is what else should I replace while I am in there? syncros? diff bearings? intermediate shaft bearings? The car is a 1990 crx si with 200,000 miles. I looked at tranny rebuild kits but they are more than I want to spend. The tranny doesn't have any other problems or symptoms, just the whine. So any help or opinions would be appreciated.
Common items I've had to replace, in order of priority:
1.) Clutch housing mainshaft bearing and seal
2.) Differential bearings and reshim for clearance
2.) Countershaft ball bearing (one with the snap ring groove)
3.) 3-4 synchro set
4.) 3rd gear
5.) 3-4 shift fork and spring pin(s)
5.) 5-R synchro set
6.) 5th gear
7.) Mainshaft ball bearing
8.) 1-2 synchro set
9.) 2nd gear
10.) Driveshaft seals

Thanks for the info, that really helps out a lot. Here is another question for everyone as well. It may be a shot in the dark but does anyone have the product numbers for the different bearings? I'm looking on the honda website but they don't name them, it just says "bearing." My helms manual hasn't come yet so I can't look to identify them. Any help would be appreciated.
See http://www.slhondaparts.com for the long part numbers.
