Default Just replaced alternator and Car doesn't start *** HELP

I just replaced the alternator myself and before that the car would run fine. Only thing was that the battery wouldn't keep a high charge. So i replaced the alternator, recharged the battery, and now it doesn't start.

When I turn the key to start the engine, the timing and alternator belt moves slightly and the engine starts clicking. The starter doesn't kick over either. Do you guys think when i was taking out the alternator ( because it did fall a lot, slippery little devil with tons of freaking axle grease all over it ) that it fell and disconnected a wire somewhere? Maybe a ground wire? Would that really affect the car like I have mentioned?

Anyone have any ideas?

are u sure that your battery is okay? check your battery first before looking for loose or broken connections.

check the connections at the alternator...but usually if they are off you won't get anything, because the circuit is incomplete

have you tried jumping it?

or the ol' push your car down the road and pop the clutch method?

The results of those could be very revealing as to what the problem is.

maybe a defective alternator that you bought. alot of the alternators out there are remanufactered, then when they get to the part stores they get tossed on shelfs( knowing from experence !! i used to just throw them on the shelf lol ). o ya check your ground on the alternators , and you shouldnt recharge batteries, always replace them.

checked everything
There is no spark
My buddy says the MSD box is messed up

Battery is good
Ground wires are good

Does anyone have the same problem with MSD?
There is no power comming from the coil or box

Everything was fine before I replaced the alternator

Actually after I replaced the alternator it did not start
I left the car there for about 2 days then I cranked it again and it turned on

After we lowered the car and threw on the tire it wouldn't start anymore

Anyone have the same problem??

it's possible you MAY have shorted something while doing the install that affteced the ignition

check the rectangular fuse with the copper ends in the under-hood fuse box....it's like an 80 amp and doesn't look like a normal fuse, it's about an inch and a half in length with copper ends that are screwed in, and the fuse portion is a clear rectangular box witht the little copper link inside

K just checked it
Its still good

It makes a clicking noise when I try to turn the car on. The crank is supposed to move freely right? I can turn the crank once to the right and then it starts to freeze up. Do you think that could be another problem?
