like the title states i have a complete 97 d16y8 im puttin in my 93 dx EG for boost.
my question is should i convert the car to obd2 to match the engine harness and ecu i have or use the harness i have in the car and jus wire for vtec and use a p28 ecu.
if i stay obd1 do i have to get an obd1 dizzy or can i keep the y8 dizzy?
if i have to convert what all do i have to change?
anyone that can help thank you.

I'd stay OBD1, so you will be able to keep your current wiring and need to get the OBD1 distributor. You will need to wire in the VTEC harness but that would be easy.

That is really the fastest way to get your thread filled up with flaming.

Stay OBD1 for the sake of the p28 cause you can have them chipped and tuned, OBD2 is a pain.
Depending on the wiring harness that your using, i think the injectors (if they obd2) are a different shape from OBD1 plugs (if you were to use an OBD1 harness).

dx dizzy will fit D16y heads. D16z6 dizzy will NOT. use yours
put your DX engine harness on the D16y7. Now your dizzy plugs right in. Swap your OBD1 injectors in as well, obd2 injectors are different than your dx harness.
if you have power steering...
may need to re-use your dx power steering pump, the pumps both bolt to either engine's brackets, but the connection on the end of the barbed fittings are different. it's easier to change PS pumps than it is to change barbed fittings.
Re-use your OBD1 alternator with the round plug to match your dx harness... OBD2 have a squarish plug.
It might be easier for you if you just re-used your entire intake manifold, since the IAT sensor wires will need to be extended to the intake arm, and you'll have to swap injectors anyways.
