Default Hi Im new to your site and need help

I just did a B18c1 swap in to my 90 crx Hf. The Car shakes really bad when you hit 4500 RPM's. I just bought new axles and the front end is brand new.
Here is my listing on a diffrent site : http://ef-honda.com/main/viewtopic.php?t=30855
Thanks for looking.

I read the other forum for some more info and I dont think that it is a bent rim. It could be but my EF is doing the same thing and I swap wheels around with my cars and it does not do it when I put those wheels on my Coupe. I would almost say that it is a half shaft problem I also changed my axles to see if that was the issue but it didnt fix mine either. I am running a ZC trans though so its hard to find the halfshaft so I have not tried that yet. Keep me updated if you find out what this is thanks. also are your wheel bearings good I am replacing mine this week because I know one is bad and I am hoping this will fix it.

if the car is shakes in any gear at 4500rpms, i wouldnt think it would be an axle. an axle would get worse as speed increases, under load. same thing with a bent wheel. my thought would be either the engine, mounts, or tranny. if it shakes out of gear at 4500rpms, have someone rev it up and take a look under the hood...

Ball joints, tie rods, steering end rack bushings.....etc...

But if it does that in EVERY gear at that RPM....then I would check the tranny out.

I am not sure about CRXWOLSKI but I have motor mount inserts in mine so I can rule that out. If it was the tranny there would be a continuous shake. I am almost thinking that it would be something in the front end.

Its just weird to me that you can sit in park and rev it up to 9k without any problems then you put it in to gear and then it shakes. The whole front end is brand new with rid rods and ball joints. I thought it was the axles so I bought new ones and installed thema dn it still shakes. In first gear you can get up to 4500 rmp's or 35 mph before it shakes but if I throw it in to 5th gear and floor it, it will not shake. I have brought the car to 4 diffrent shops and they keep on saying its the axles but there are brand new with less then 15 miles on them.

Ok just goy the car back from farm&fleet and it seen worst now. The guy that did the alignment said the back wheel bearings are bad but I did a integra disk swap in the back before I did the engine swap and they didnt skake at all. Im just throwing this out there but there was a small piece missing from the crank pulley would that make it shake that bad?

Updated. The problem was the car was too low to the ground. The camber kit was hitting the inside fender well bad. raised the car up a inch and no more problems for the shaking. Now I have ran into a new problem. The car smokes really bad now. Is there way to tell if its the rings or valves? Also I dont know if this would making it smoke but there is oil leaking from the head and block meet.

You can see the oil slowly coming out the exhast manifold and she burns it really bad. I took the car for a test run and you couldnt see the car behind you thats how bad it is.

Well........

Hahha, j/p.

What's the history of this motor? But seriously, revving to nine grand? What ecu are you using, might be just me..but ive always though that basically any B other than maybe the type Arrrs..redline at around 8200. If youve got that much oil spitting out the exhaust then you might as well pull the motor and do a ground up restoration on it.

Try and get a compression test done, if that's ok then it might be a fault in your valvetrain. Good luck

I would take it a shop and get a compression leakdown test while it still runs. I had a motor do that to me before. I though it was the head and so I got it completely rebuilt. Well after I slapped it back on it still smoked and had a low compression test. A leakdown compression test will tell you exactly where its leaking from. It sounds to me like its your rings though

? A little slow...

But for the oil check the gasket of course, also throw a can of Restore in there. Honestly that could help a lot I swear by that stuff.

Which one? the head gasket? I am going to buy a compression tester tomorrow and test it all. I hate to remove the engine again when I just got it in there.

This got done with a compression test.
piston. 1 : 180
piston. 2 : 175
piston. 3 : 175
piston. 4 : 170
I dont see any bad numbers here. I did the testing wet. I dont know if it could be value seals? I will also note that where the head and the block meet there is oil coming out of there. Could it be a bad head gasket?

well...from my experience if it was a hg then you would be burning coolant out of the exhaust which is white. If you are spitting straight oil out the exhaust then it could be the valve train, once again, how many times did you take it to 9 grand on the stock valve train?

Its not the HG its a bad valve seal. It is leaking in the exhast and thats why I have some much smoke.
