My impression: 205/50/15 S0-3's
I opted for the 205/50’s opposed to the OEM size.
The absolute first thing I noticed was how quiet these tires were. Even driving over those little bumpies in the road, was substantially quieter, and slightly softer than before.
My suspension setup consists of stock shocks with Tein S.Tech mediums.
As for performance,
I was troubled to hear others say turn-in was not as sharp as expected for a 205/50. Being sensitized to this, I noticed very little difference in turn in, although second gear chirp was much harder to achieve.
Overall, I’d have to say these are better for street use than the RE010’s.
Wet traction is unbelievable.
…love ‘em, and would buy them again in a heartbeat, as my new favorite tire.

You've had both sizes in S0-3's? How many miles are on your R?
Maybe 30k miles from now I'll put in my two cents, but for now, I think it's a good choice street use.

No, shorter sidewall.
However, I wouldn't use the 195/50-15 out of choice, just because the outer diameter is so much smaller than stock. It's even smaller than the 205/50-15, which is still smaller than stock.
For those who got the 195's when they were $76 each, I can understand why you'd want to save $$$.

Did any of you also investigate the potential for problems involving a lower load capacity for 195's as oppossed to 205 on a 15's rim? Or is this an unecessary concern?
I have the 205 S03s but I haven't mounted them yet. What your opinion? I'm curious.

"load capacity"
Like anyone here puts anything in their car to make a difference
I would not pay too much attention to load capacity, just me tho...

I still think 195/50 is better with stock rims...
