Was all original 91 REX SI.........NO MORE after I joined a couple Honda forums lol
I'm the original owner of a 1991 CRX SI and tried to keep it mostly stock until I started viewing a couple online Honda forums.
So much info and so many parts I decided to UPDATE my little REX. The car has 97,500 miles and never been driven out of state nor driven more than 100 miles a day. I have other cars and this kinda sat in the garage most of the time. Now that the kids are a little older I have a little time to tinker with my REX. So far I have installed a few aftermarket parts mainly suspension goodies. I'm at the point now wheather to update the motor or just run the stock till I get really hit by the speed bug. lol I know the car has low mileage but I find that it's underpower and needs more quickness. I enjoy the gas mileage it gives me and don't want to sacrifice it but I was wondering if there is a good swap that will give more power and in return give me close to the gas mileage I'm getting from the D16? Input much appreciated. Thanks

looks sick!! props! what kinda rims are those??
as for the d, i would say keep it, theres plenty you can do with it, and there are many around for dirt cheap if something does happen to it.... if your lookin for peppyness, go supercharger or turbo, if all around power, maybe look into going na.... theres plenty of learnin to do, might as well start here.... good luck with it!!

thanks man I will keep searching thru the forums for updates on the motor. I'm not in a real rush. I've been saving at least $100 a week on gas and with that I'm putting towards parts.
The wheels are Honda Factory Performance wheels. 16's with 205-45-16's.

a b-series (maybe b20/b16/ls-vtec..search or read the faq at the top of the this forum for more info on those motors and how to swap them in) with a ls(b18a or b) 5th gear(its common to swap the 5th gear cog from and ls tranny into a b16 tranny because the 5th gear ratio on an ls tranny is significantly longer)...clean crx btw

how long have you had those wheels on the car? looks cool and it's even better because they're oem honda wheels.
you could look into a low boost turbo setup, you'd retain the sohc gas mileage and you'd be able to have a little more pep when you need to get on it.

excellent! Great to see another one with the wheels. That REX has way more mods than mine and I hope to do the same. Thanks for sharing these sweet pics. Can you provide me a link to more pics of this car? I would like to see more.

I like the rims
What year/model did they come off of?
EDIT: Just googled it...'01-'05 Civics...looks like they offered a 5-spoke and a 7-spoke. Any idea where to get them?

b16s I've heard still give owners 28-30mpg in their hatchbacks.
You cant really gain more power and maintain 38mpg ahha.
Immaculate crx, hope to see it turn mean.

I regularly get over 30mpg combined cycle through the summer/fall in my EM1, and a CRX is much lighter of course. I'd think the mileage would be pretty damn close.
