Default Broken weld on a nut on trailing arm link - cant get to the nut

I was taking off the trailing arms of my coupe to do a rear disc swap and the last bolt (#27 in pic) was being stubborn. The nut on the other end is welded to the frame of the car which is enclosed inside a metal "box" type of thing. Well...the weld broke around the nut and fell off. So now the bolt just spins inside the hole. I can not pull the nut out because it is ceased on the bushing of the trailing arm link. what are my options?

bolt that is stuck and spins inside hole...also ceased inside bushing
Box where the nut that was welded on broke off

PS I DO NOT HAVE A WELDER

I was thinking of getting another nut that fits that bolt and cutting the bottom of that "box" thing off with a hole saw. Then just tightening it like a normal bolt/nut. Spray the hole i cut with some paint to prevent rust and plug it with a rubber grommet?

a drill and some patience will be needed

ive had this happen before, and thats rear toe adjustment not camber.

first off have you got the bolt off?

if its just spinning what i did was grad to fairly big screwdrivers and slide them in the hole and pry up against it, cause there is a little slot it goes in also behind the box... and i held that as i took vise grips and slowly removed it as i heated it... took a good half hour or so...

Yes the bolt is stuck inside the bushing...so it wont allow the bolt to slide out of the entire assembly. My main concern is what to do about the nut that was welded on that broke off. Should i just get a normal bolt/nut and try that? or should i order a OEM replacement bolt and try to find a normal nut that fits on it and just tighten them down and locktight them.

just get a nut and bolt. any competent alignment mechanic would still be able to align your car with a nut and bolt to hold the toe arm in place. just use lock washers with it as well

Alright. I am going to have to use a hole saw to cut in to that bottom of that box. Otherwise i wont be able to get in that space.

Dude, do a little searching in the archives next time. Its very much worth your time. What happened to you is quite common.

Here is everything you will need.
