Tool to install oil seals while engine is in the car...
FSM shows that the the oil seals (front and rear aka crank and flywheel) are installed with engine in the car using a special tool and adapter.
Is this available somewhere or is there any other tools to get the job done? I need to replace the oil pump side (crank pulley side)....
Thanks!

I used a roll of Blue Painters tape and a rubber mallet to install my oil seal. (remove tape to achieve proper diameter.
The tranny will have to removed to replace the main oil seal.

pull off the crank pulle and timing cover remove the belt cog use an appropriate tool to remove old seal(this is the hard part)you can use a pick like tool i bent a ice pick and hammer the pick to get it out with the help of a utility knife DONT SCRATCH THE MATING SURFACE WITH THE TOOL chances are i t will leak if you do. then once removed use a socket that is the same size as the od(outter diameter)of the seal use hammer to install by hitting the socket with the hammer, make sure to put it in there evenly and snug but dont beat the crap out of it,and by evenly i mean the seal all goes in at the same time no side to side action!that is how i do it and i never had a problem unless i beat the seal too hard you just gotta keep tapping it till it is in all the way and it will be a pain in the *** if the motor is still in the car take off the wheel too help take off anything that is in the way so you can get a good even strike with the hammer!

No use a large socket for the oil pump seal. I believe I removed the oil pump to do this.
Also BE CAREFUL TO NOT SCRATCH THE OIL PUMP.

The old seal popped off with my hand and fore finger when the motor was out, thats why I just pushed the new seal on. My issue was that I am using a wrong seal, I think.
I will take a pic and post up of the seal that is leaking now!

This is a pic of the crank area with crank pulley and t-belt pulley removed. The red arrow is where the oil poured out of.
Do I need to use any hondabond or something like that to help it seal?

I feel this seal had already been popped out when it was shipped to me as the crank pulley was all marred and the bolt was hand tight. Also, seal popped out by pulling with my finger - I will check to see if the surface is not already fubar'd. Should I use hondabond or something?
Dave and others - Thanks so MUCH for your time!

How easy did the seal go in? Also where did you get the seal from? Sometimes stuff labeled as oem from non honda distributors are off brand parts and don't fit well sometimes. Ive never actually put any sealant on the seal, only some gasket tack on the outer lip of the seal and mating surface after the seal was installed. I usually use a piece of pvc pipe that filed down to not hurt the seal and tap that with a hammer.

Re: Tool to install oil seals while engine is in the car... (ejoner)
easy like a valve cover seal - just slipped on. It was a honda seal from majestic honda. I ordered a ZC specific seal and waiting for it.
Socket or some sort of pipe are the options. I was thinking of taking the old one off and slipping it on the edge of some pipe or socket and then tapping the new one on with the pipe/old one combo. We'll see what happens...
I will keep y'all updated!

Double check the part number you installed, the cam seal and crank seal are almost the same size. If you got the cam seal the outside dia is just a little smaller. I haven't tried installing them yet so I don't even know if the cam seal will slide over the crank but I bet it will the parts guy made sure to mark the seals and told me to make sure that I put them in the right place.
Edit: I just looked at the cam and crank seal you can install the cam seal in the crank seals place they are almost the exact same size.
Crank seal part number: 91212-P2F-AO1
Cam seal part number: 91213-PD2-004

Good high res picture. Thanks I just checked the numbers on your seal to the numbers on the new cam seal that I have in front of me and they are the same!!!! The crank seal has a different molded face to it and numbers stamped on it are diff. It looks like you have the wrong seal installed.

Thanks for the pic compliment. I need everyones help and figured a pic is worth a thousand words, right? Its the least I could do.
From all my exhaustive research - The SOHC and DOHC ZC oil pump seal is slightly bigger. All the D15 and D16 ones uses a (31X46X7) oil seal, but when I googled it, I found that the SOHC and DOHC ZC uses a (31X46X8) oil seal which upon cross referencing the part no. seems to be for a 89-91 1.6L motor that came in the CRX and Civic SI models only...
I ordered one of those from honda yesterday and should be here tomorrow.
I found the link and part no. via this link....

Here is the honda link showing the part no. and size....

I am not sure what the 7 vs 8 does, but I figured its worth a try to do it with the right part!

Re: (b18c4door)
The ZC seal was a tad bit bigger alright. I used a 36" deep impact socket and a hammer to tap it in. It was hard to get it in there and I was being a careful weeny.
Set timing etc and I am about start her up again tonight - wish me luck! I hope I don't lose 2 quarts in a jiffy like I did last time.
