Default CV boot tore - Need some help with identifying parts

90 CRX Si with B16a obd0 swap and S1 trans

The previous owner said he didn't know what axles/half shafts/cv were used. When I put my car up on the lift at work I noticed the passenger side cv boot was torn. I took a few pics to hopefully help identify what parts are used but I need your guys help. Where, if at all, will part numbers be on any of these pieces to correctly identify them? Trying to get this sorted out asap

Why do you need part numbers? Go to a parts store or Honda dealer and tell them you need a boot for your car. If the axle is clicking, replace the whole axle.

Damn that car is rusty.

*Edit - Excuse my dumbass, I didn't see you had a B16

I would also recommend taking them with you to the parts store to ensure they are the proper ones (Verify the teeth are the same on the new ones). When I changed axles on a friends HB, they ended up giving me the wrong size spline and I had to take everything back apart again...

I would guess that what you would need is a drivers axle from a 90-93 Integra. Just yank it out and pop the new one in.

I'm guessing the same, but I wouldnt know for the b16 tranny for sure. You might just want to see if you can find one real cheap used to see if it is the same before ordering one.

Good luck with the car man! I was the guy that went along with Matt to drop it off for you.

Good idea, I remember Harry's having a white DA when I was there the other day. I'll give it a shot.

90 STD hubs ftw

try taking it to a shop to repair the axle or you can do it yourself.

Must I have the entire unit replaced or just the boot portion?

If you can hear the joint click at all when making a turn with the wheel turned all the way, then you should replace the joint. If it is only leaking, and not clicking, you can just repack it with grease and replace the boot.

I use 91 integra axles but I have a 90-93 intermediate shaft.

It all depends on what mid-shaft you have.

How do I tell if I need the inner or outer cv boot?

From looking at the picture, it looks like the outer one, the second link, is ripped, but the inner one is only held on with a zip-tie, so you should probably replace that one while the axle is out, and that'll give you an opportunity, and the clamp you need to make the inner one stay together.

You can get universal boots for less then 5$.

Is that a CRX hood on that car? Looks weird for some reason.

you have a female axle and a male mid shaft so when you get a new axle ask for a 94 gsr axle( it also has the abs ring which is also a dead give away)
