Default 1997 DD project..... Transmission issue's!

Ok so i bought a 97 Accord LX for 300$. Basically it needs a new transmission. I have a earlier model F22A1 with a transmission avaliable. Will this transmission work on the 97. Im just unsure that the auto on the F22A1 is electronically shifted... Anyway any help would be appreciated... Also im pretty sure the trans is shot as it rolls anywhere i want it to in park.... and makes horrible grinding noises... o yeah it it registers that its going 20mph sitting still in drive rofl...

I would have glady searched and im quite familiar with the search function but the main issue is the fact that what do you search for that to get the proper results... u will end up with probally ten thousand threads with some info that isnt quite what i need....

Also thank you for the info. I'm very new to Honda's as a whole as this is my first honda. It just seems that not many things interchange between the different models. Does the transmission off the F22A1 have the eletronic solinoids for shifting?

Should - basically every F and every H transmission is compatible (save for the F22/F20 from the S2000)

It's got a TCU along with a VSS and what not for the cluster.

They're all directly swappable, you shouldn't even have to mess with it

Fix that 20 MPH standing still thing first. The TCU maybe getting incorrect readings and messing with the tranny operation. Any CEL on?

Which torque converter are you using? The older one, the one 97 one or a rebuilt one?

finally had a chance to look at this thing turns out the issue was a popped axle... All though now it has an issue of after you put it into drive or reverse from a start it will move for a minute then not move any longer.... Any suggestions?
