what would cause an auto tranny to slip into neutral on its own? some sort of linkage or something? im not familiar with auto trannys too much

 

bumper
read a bunch last night, some of the problems could be

low/old fluid
bad clutch
bad torque converter
the last two could be because the fluid is lower or old though
and a bad computer but i forget if the 88-91 auto civics had its own computer for just the auto tranny. i would assume not.

 

Not computer related, mechanically. Mine did that and I got told by a friend that some little actuator inside the transmission was worn out. So i did auto-manual swap. sorry im no help, had the same probem though, also my d2 stopped working.

 

whats a d2? lol. this is for my ex. so if i can fix it i will if not shes out of luck.

 

D2 is that low gear setting. U know like (d2 d3 d4 n p)
