Well its been brought to my attention that my Prelude, after having all the work done to it is black smoking pretty heavily.... I've checked and carbon output seems to be quite a bit above normal. I'm wandering if it might just be the shitty fart can that came with the car that might be all stuffed up with it. The smoke is apparently BLACK not blue.... So I don't think its oil...
When I went to wash it the past few times, I did notice quite a bit of carbon deposits on the rear bumper.... Also in my garage, there's a trail of carbon deposits sitting on the ground where the car sits and is started/warmed up every morning before leaving to go to work.
Sometimes I've noted that it smells VERY reminiscent to gasoline while idling after the car is warm (say when coming to a stoplight or what not)...... My assumption is that the Honda is running rich.... But why would this be when I had the car dyno tuned to run properly when it had that fucked up chip in it before???? It runs perfectly and feels fine, but I'm worried about some inner lying problem that is just lurking about in the motor waiting to haunt me. I just did an oil change last week, so I will be monitoring oil consumption if there is any closely. After the head work and all (post-bent valves lol), the motor passed the compression test with full compression all across the board.
So let me know what you all think about this and I will start checking things out. I'm buying a wideband air/fuel ratio meter today so I can for sure monitor the status of the mixture.
