crank sensor ?
ok so when i start my car in the morning (stock Si d16z6) i have a check engine light and it is code 4 crank position sensor. i can let it warm up completely and my car runs like crap wont go above 3k rpms and runs rich. then later on in the day when it warms up it is fine and there is no CEL and it drives like it should i replaced the distributor last weekend thinking maybe the sensor was in there but i also heard they were on some of the honda blocks? does anyone know what could be causing this or maybe where the crank sensor actually is? all i have is a skunk2 mega power and SRI so i dont think that has anything to do with it. well thanks in advance for any help
Reman's 6/10 times have the pinning of the sensors wrong, some I'm gonna say your pinning is wrong.
The crank sensor is in the distributor, anything 1996+ has a CKF sensor on the oil pump housing, STRICTLY for emissions. Do not confuse the two.
No damage will be done, Honda is protecting your engine. It can calculate spark timing based on the other two sensors, the TDC and CYP sensors. It wont be very accurate until the CKP is working, which is the one your having trouble with.

well when i try to drive it even after its fully warmed up it doesnt wanna go above 25-3k and it backfires pretty bad too? does that sound like it could still be that sensor?
