whats your best mpg?
I got 36mp hwy for a couple of months. I changed the tube seals and half *** put everything together. Afterwards it was ticking and not as responsive. I don't know exactly what I did. I'm guess I didn't set the ignition afterwards or my valve setting job was kinda off. I redid everything and now my mpg is not as great.
there has been threads like this before, maybe a search through the archives will turn something up.
also, to get MPG... next time you fill up, fill up all the way and clear your trip gauge. Then when you fill up again, fill up all the way again, write down the miles from your trip on the gas receipt. now take a calculator and divide the miles you wrote down by the amount of gas (in gallons) you put into the car.
ex.
you drove 312.4 miles and you put in 11.04 gallons of gas. You take 312.4 and divide it by 11.04 and thats your miles per gallon.
312.4/11.04 = 28.2 MPG

Oh, 1996 Accord DX 2.2L non-VTEC.
Duh, I forgot your question.
Here's what to do:
1. Run you car until empty.
2. Fill up entire tank.
3. Press trip reset button to Zero.
4. Drive around the city and/or highway until empty.
5. Fill up entire tank and look at gas pump for number of gallons pumped.
6. Take the number of miles you drove and divide it by number of gallons.
Example: 450 miles divided by 15 gallons pumped = 30 miles per gallon.

haha yeah you can do it with just 1/4 of gas used or whatever
Just reset trip meter when you fill up, next time you fill up look at the number of miles you went and the gallons you put in.
Miles PER Gallon = Miles / Gallons
On my stock 97 it's roughly 31
On the H22 96 it's like 25 lol

cool thx. so i can do it when my tank is half full? Example, can i wait until my tank is half full, reset the trip gauge, then fill it up to full? Then when it reaches half tank again, that is when i do the calculation?

I calculate my mileage everytime I fill up. Cityish driving 27-30. Have been averaging around 28 mpg. Highway cruising like 85-90 I get about 30-32. Best I have seen was 36mpg and that was following someone doing like 55-60 the WHOLE TIME!!

yeah just reset the trip gauge whenever you go to the gas station
drive around till like half tank, fill up again and see the amount of gas you used (like 7 gallons) and then divide what the trip meter says (say like 210miles) by the 7 gallons you filled up with

In the winter, with my SRI on I get 26-30mpg
In the summer w/out SRI on (too hot) I avg 22-24mpg
I do mostly city driving though, 80% city and 20% highway

no, you can't do it that way. You do it when you fill up, the gauge isn't reliable enough to do that.
Just do it the way I described in my other post.
