No fan after B16 swap
After my I got my CRX back the fan switch wasn't connected. I've searched and can't find any connector for it. I hooked up a switch to control fan but it keeps blowing fuse. Any easy remedies to hook fan switch? It's a 89 Rex with B16A hydraulic trans.
why not just hook up the fan switch on the engine? OBD0 engines have the fan switch on the back of the block next to the oil filter - OBD1 engines have the fan switch on the thermostat housing
What they did with mine, is ran a straight wire 2 wires from the fan into the car to the fuse box, black goes to ground, and red goes into an Unnecessary fuse hole. Crimp a flat terminal on it to it stays in like a fuse. And put it on the hot side, so when i turn my key into the on position, it kicks on and stays on until i turn it off. Keep engine way cooler.
Thanks for your replies! My engine is Sir 2 retrofitted with OBD0 so the fan switch is on the thermostat housing. I think I'll try wiring the fan to the fuse box. Anything else seems a little above my skill set. Let you know what happens.
