bondo inside an engine bay?
Is it a terrible idea to use this stuff while shaving the bay? I heard a bunch of missed opinions on this from various body guys and now that im halfway through im starting to get worried
Bondo sucks, you want to use a thin coat of flexible filler. Products like Evercoat Poly-Flex is what you want to use. If done right w/ quality material you will have no problems.
Yes; please use a flexible filler something along the lines of Evercoat or something like that; there's a few very high quality fillers out; and can be used on multiple surfaces, metal/urethane/plastic. But please don't use bondo.

Damn. The firend that has been helping me out with the project convinced me to used bondo because he used it when he was restoring his jeep and he said it worked very well. The jeep looks amazing, he used to work at a body shop and used bondo for just about everything there without problems. The more and more i hear about it though the more worried i get. Im thinking its a little too late now though

you think? Thats what half teh people tell me and teh other half tell me im screwed. i welded the firewall in this weekend and before welding the top supports and the fender support in i checked the flex of it and teh framewell flexed quiet a bit and nothing cracked.
Is it more of teh flexing or the vibrations that will crack it?
