Revisiting the problem... (blown engine?)
A while back I posted a thread about my '89 Civic SI, assuming I bent a connecting rod.
I'll retell the story to get you updated; I was reversing out of my spot, put it in first gear and started driving. I rolled up to a speed bump so I clutched in and put it in neutral. My engine jerked quite hard and the engine shut off. I tried to start it again and it wouldn't budge.
We came to the conclusion that my engine was blown and I bent a connecting rod. However, a friend of mine who has experience with engines and Hondas specifically, told me that it may not be a bent connecting rod. He says because it's a "non-interference" engine that it may be something else. He told me to check my timing belt and cam gear? by removing the timing belt cover...
What do you guys think?
