My 92 EG h22a jdm swap.
Hi folks,
I have the 93 h22a obd1 jdm engine and I am getting 2 cel's currently,
one is "36 traction control found on JDM ecu's" I have a feeling it has to do with the p13's unused connector that's on the ecu, where the ecu came to me with 4 -6 wires hacked off and I have read that its un-used.. im guessing its something like splice a resistor or something somewhere to fool it so you dont get that cel.
the other is ECT code 6 water temp sensor, all the wires look right any one have any advice as to how to diagnose this?
thanks.
also when should you receive a vtec solinoid/vtec pressure sensor cel.. when does it actuate after the cars warmed up?? I have had my engine on about 5-10 mins at a time and haven't felt it kick in yet..

Sounds like a H22 into a Civic problem.....I think the TECH or N/A forums will get you more H22 Civic help.
Most Preluders here are just jealous that their motor in a Civic Hatch will run 12's instead of 14's!

hah ya. thats why when i recked my lude pretty bad. i was absolutly sure the insurance company was going to total it out. i was already looking for a civic hatch to drop my h22 into.
That was always my plan before I had 2 Preludes and 1 Civic.....
Our shop EG with a EuroR H22 just went 11.92@111mph with stock internals and an SMSP header at ~1900lbs!

Wow I can't believe no one has an answer for u yet dude. Code 36 (traction control) sounds like the motor u got came with traction control, but now in ur new lude obviously u don't have traction control, so it's just letting u know, nothing to worry about. The other code for the ECT will actually deactivate Vtec and won't let it engage I believe. Not sure exactly cause I've never diagnosed an ECT problem but search here on h-t for ECT and I'm sure u'll get tons of hits.
