255hp intank?
ok i have been told that a goodmod to do pretty early is to replace the fuel pump.
i have done some research and come 2the conclusion that Walbro 255 high pressure pumps are top notch.
my question is that will my basically stock 97 lude be able to operate up to par for this pump?

What are your mods? i take it since you said you were no where near an FI car that you probably dont need a new fuel pump. Your stock pump will be good for a mild all motor build

You were told wrong, you shouldn't need to replace the fuel pump early on, you'll replace it and for what? it won't get you any added power until you do something that does require more fuel

The engine has a fuel pressure regulator that will keep the pressure how it's supposed to for the most part...you will be fine.

In the thread that LoneLuder made on the basic steps for making power with your Prelude (or something of that nature
), he says that an upgraded fuel pump is a good idea for piece of mind reasons and safety...I guess for detonation prevention and such.
