M6 x 100 mm bolt
Hi, i have a question about a certain bolt that i need to change the balancer belt in my 94 accord. I read somewhere that i need a special tool or a M6 x 100mm bolt.
What does the M6 stand for and what kind of a bolt is this...can someone please explain i plan on doing this sometime this weekend...and i need to know quickly...thanks

M6 = 6mm dia. the 100 after it probably is specifying the thread pitch which is 1.00. if it indeed does say 100mm than that is the length of the bolt, leaving the thread pitch a mystery. if it is just a standard hex cap M6-1.00 bolt than you wont need nothing special, any socket or wrench should take it off.
An M6 is another way of describing the hundreds of bolts on any Honda that use a 10mm socket. The M6 is the thread size, but all the ones on a Honda have a 10mm head, so, for example, you could just take out one of the bolts that hold on your fenders or radiator supports and use one of those.
like already said, the M6 stands for the thread diameter which is 6 millimeters (mm). The 100 is the length of the bolt in millimeters.
You dont actually NEED and M6x100 for that job. Anything of close size will work just fine. So probably a #1 phillips screwdriver would work, or... Just anything thats about 6mm in diameter and thats atleast 100mm long will work.

this bolt-i used a thin rod- is reco'ed to insert into the hole to hold the rear balancer shaft in place while balancer belt is installed. the writeups i have seen suggest marking whatever is-so i did- used to insert into the hole at 74mm-or is it 76?- to insure full insertion when shaft is at its alignment marks.
my timing and balancer belt replacements went well.
i wonder though, what happens if the front and rear balancer shaft pointers were not aligned prior to balancer belt install? has anyone experienced this?
