Default B16A problems... sporatic bog after oil change.

here's the story:

my crx sits to the side for 2 weeks, never started. I start it on Thursday
and drive it for about 45mins, never pushing it too hard... runs fine.

Friday, i change the oil, and try to start it... very very very hard to
start... bogs. Perhaps bad fuel? with it at WOT, it starts and runs for a
bit. Eventually, it runs fine, revs, power is available throughout RPM
band.

Saturday, start it up... same problem. in gear, it doesn't want to
accelerate... but sometimes it'll run just fine.

Open the hood and take a look at the distributor... looks fine. pull the
plugs, nothing wrong there (outside of them being loose).

I never check the timing belt... since if it snapped or popped off, it
wouldn't run at all.

So, my guess is it's the ignitor or something with the ignition system,
except I don't know how to check it.

Mind you, there's no engine clanking noises or anything suggesting the engine crapped out on me.

Any ideas of what it might be is valued!

.bump.

also....replaced cap, rotor, and ignitor....still doing it.

Checked the spark plugs... just black from the rough idle. Checked the Timing Belt... nothing unusual.

could it be the TPS? How about ignition coil?

i'd agree with jdm ef9 - one more thing to verify is that the tbelt didn't jump a tooth - are the cams & crank pulley right on the tdc marks?

it does sound like something came loose during the oil change though, maybe a sensor that's not fully connected....

It's a sporadic bog, correct? Under part-throttle tip-in? Mine does that too

didn't you post this in the Hybrid forum also?

There, I believe, we had discovered it was a faulty ignitor.

I did, and i replaced the ignitor... everything indicated a faulty ignitor.

Replaced and still having a problem. The timing belt is fine, didn't skip a beat. Drove it last night and it seems to be running fine, power through-out powerband...but, after got it warm, it would kinda bog under 5K... i'm thinking bad fuel might be the problem or clogged fuel injectors?

I'm gonna pump some fuel injection cleaner in there and some new fuel to see what happens... then, I'll just begin replacing everything.
