This might sound like a dumb question but, what on the climate control untit should be illuminated with lights on.

My '96 only lights the temp slider, the fan speed slider, the A/C button and the Rear defrost button. The Mode switches don't illuminate however the leds that idicate which position is on work fine. Do I have a bulb out or do I need to resolder everything like I keep reading?

The Green Harness is most likely your problem. The Socket on the Circuit Board has cracked Solders most likely. What was wrong with mine. Quick, simple fix. It'll be harder to take it apart and put back together.. A lot of work to do that, but no more problems or shorts..

If you look here: http://www.hondaautomotivepart...NTROL

The Bulb #1 is what illuminates the Buttons and the Temperature & Fan Speed Sliders. There are three of these on the Control Unit. Two for each side of buttons and one for the Sliders.

The Two that illuminate the Buttons on mine are out.

The Colored Lights, Green & Amber, for each switch are separate LEDs.

What's in my Control unit is not normal LEDs though, and I couldn't find them at the Radio Shack I checked.. And for $2.99 from Honda, that's kinda expensive..
