corrosive battery?
ya ya ya i'm a newbie but you fellas help me out in many ways .....i appreciate you're expertise in acuras....and i go directly to you fools versus rolling up to a joeblow mechanic....anyways....simple question....
I noticed recently..i had to jumpstart my friends car using my jumper cables....and i realized my battery had a white powdery substance bubbling up over the metal conductors? .....about a month later i pop the hood...i notice the white powdery stuff dissipated and now the red conductor had some black tar melting all around it......? what the eff? but my car runs good...never had any batt. problems...should i get this checked out? doesnt really worry me, but just curious on what this black corrosive tar is doing on the red conductor portion of the battery?

It's probably just some build-up on the terminals. Go buy some battery cleaner and some protectant and take care of that battery before winter.

I don't think he wants to get high.
OP: clean it up with a wire brush, and spray down with a battery protector (advanced auto should have some)

check and see if it needs any fluid?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i wouldn't recommend that as 99% of car batteries are sealed, maintenance-free....shouldn't need to go adding acid or water to it

yeah true...
but then again theres the ones that just say maintenance-free...
