Default 2.5" exhaust question (Type One)

Will I have any problems trying to fit my Type ONe catback onto my stock cat?? I was just wondering before I get started because I don't wanna go through the trouble of finding out myself. Also, where can i get a straight pipe that will not bring up a check engine light? My friend told me about a cat that is hollow so it acts as a straight pipe, but there is actual cat material on the outside to fool the o2 sensor. But i don't know where to get it. I need a 2.5 inch testpipe or cat that will not fool the o2 sensor. I know that i could switch out for a p28 ecu, which i am going to do later, but for the meantime is there anyhting else I can do? I am getting the DC SS JDM 4-1 in a short time so I don't want the cat restricting flow. Thanks for any help.

-Ken

what's the point in upgrading a header and exhaust and keeping a stock cat? That's like ordering the bread and lettuce and not the meat.

Yo Ken.... Hope that Type One works out for ya. Your gonna love it you should have told me I would have sold you my Car Sound Cat if interested.... Just sold it & sent it off yesterday. Check with Dave again on the cat... I have a test pipe on my ride, but I needed p28 ecu anyways so the check eng light dosn't come on at all. There might be a straight pipe like what your friend says but I don't know if that works, I think that was made to fool cops or something.

Steve

Same point in upgrading cams and not raising compression or adding "recommended" mods to increase power.

I have heard from so many places that the Type One is 60mm (2.36"). I also hear from just as many places that it's 2.5". Did they ever change the sizing on the Type One so the old ones are 60mm while the others are 2.5? What's the real size of this exhaust?

well for one thing don't ever run a gsr motor in your car with stock civic DX exhaust piping! (hahaha) I'm sure an upgrade to 2.5 with stock cat would do wonders for that car!!! But you should get a test pipe!!!

SurferX- Don't quote me on this but I believe the Type One has a 2.5 inch outer diameter and a 2.36 inner diameter, the difference being determined by the thickness of the metal. I've heard it also still has a, or a few, bottlenecks. Can anyove comment on that?
