Default how do i install a skunk2 cam and gear

okay so i have searched and found a thread that would have helped me out however the links are no longer valid. So here it is. I am doing a mini me swap on my d16y7 to the y8 head however i got a skunk2 tuner stg1 cam and gear for it and i was looking to install it outside of the car while it is on my work bench. I have never done a cam before but i pick stuff up pretty quick and love wrenching on cars. So basically i am looking for a link or a walk through of how i can change the cam while it is on the workbench so i can swap it in already done. also a writup for how to install a cam gear. thanks in advance. eric.

It's not that difficult especially if you already have the head off. The only thing you really have to pay attention to is the sequence you remove the bolts holding the cradle down (the part with the rocker arms). If you have access to a chilton/haynes manual, the sequence is in there. It's really straight forward. Remove the cradle, remove stock camshaft, clean the journal seats and apply assembly lube, put the new camshaft in, replace cradle, tighten down according to the sequence. For the cam gear, it's a single bolt on the end of the camshaft. That's it. The only other thing I can think of is your stock cam gear may have the woodruff key integrated into the cam gear. If it is, you'll need to pick up a woodruff key at your local parts store or dealer. If it's not, reuse the woodruff key with the new camshaft and cam gear combo.
