Default After Tranny Swap Speedo Problem

I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX F23.

I had my automatic transmission swapped out for 5 Speed manual.
The transmission works fine, everything works appropriately.
My only problem is that the mileage meter and the speedometer does not work. All the other gauges work. The tachometer, gas gauge, temp gauge, all work properly. The only thing is the speedometer does not move and the mileage meter does not track how many miles the car has moved (it is permanently stuck at the last mileage interval).

My mechanic told me there is a clip missing that is on the transmission that connects it to the ECU for the speedometer and the mileage meter. For the past 3 months we have not been able to find this electrical clip.

Does anyone know whether or not this is the reason the speedometer and mileage meter is not functioning? And if this is so, does anyone know what the part is called and where exactly I can get one?

sounds to me also that you VSS in not correctly clipped in or it is bad....you are throwing a CEL right?

You also probably have a code for the VSS.....

Odometer/Speedo/CEL = VSS

The VSS is the same in an auto as it is in a 5-speed. I know the speed sensor connector is different in a 5-speed. I had to pull a 3 wire VSS connector off an EG when I did the tranny swap in my 6th gen. Did the speedometer ever work after your swap?
