I was looking to upgrade the intake manifold and was wondering if it would be worth it on a stock motor. Would I see any power gain. I am running a DC header and offroad exhaust and CAI. I was thinking either Skunk2 or Edelbrock. Any help is appreciated.

O.K. the problem is i swapped the motor from an auto and am thinking about using a manual IACV to get a more consistent idle. since i was gonna swap manifolds i figured get a performance one?? why is edelbrock better? should i change the throttle body?? What cam would be good for a stock setup??

Look building an engine is not about slapping a bunch of parts on your car with the biggest spec numbers which no offence is what i am kinder feel the path your on!
First of all before i try to even answer any of these questions i need to know a few things such as your budget after all this is going to be the biggest factor in your build!
What’s your plan for the car street, track what/?
All these things have to be answered before anything can be answered with conviction!
You do not go into a kitchen to cook with out first knowing what your going to cook right lol!

I'm just wondering if an aftermarket IM will make a difference on a stock motor. What about a different throttle body.</TD></TR></TABLE>
First things first you never even told anyone what motor you have, reguardless the answer is the same.
nope and .............nope on the second,
You need to flow more air in and out of the cylinder for those mods to help you at all. I don't think they would actually hurt you at all (stay under 60mm on the tb). But I would defiantly start sinking money into things that would actually make you some power first like a exhaust, cam, header (there is power to be had over stock exhaust manifold even if the motor is stock) Headwork then after each or all of those Tuning. Save the money and buy a decent header. The pro-flow is a decent choice for the money. If you want to go all out on this motor I would suggest a bisimoto or smsp.
to answer your question your not going to make any power switching out the IM on a stock motor.

The title says " d16y8 Intake question" I thought you were asking about putting the d16y8 intake on another motor.
