what kind of paint is used to make the engine look new?
i seen it before but i couldnt find it on here. I know you have to scrub and degrease the motor first. But theres this paint or spray that makes it look spotless after the scrubbing. Ne help would be great.
The block itself is not painted from the factory. If you want to paint it, go with a dedicated engine enamel or high-heat spray.
i am going to wire wheel my engine and then paint it, like i did my tranny.
When you wire wheel it, it almost looks polished. ALmost felt bad painting it.

I used Duplicolour Ultra high 1200 degree aluminum paint. The code on the back of the rattle can is some letters and then 1606, i beleive.
Make sure you scrub to get all that white power corrsion stuff off, or else itll just come of.

you can also get a local shop to throw it in a hot tank to clean it up. looks really nice, kind of what you are looking for. should be no more then 20 bucks, if not free.

Wow, that looks great. How'd you clean all the nooks and crannies?

literally all night, 12-6. I had a air wire wheel, which saced me oohh so much time, and still brushes. Get them in various sizes, and get a bunch of small little ones becase they get worn out and bad really fast. It almost looks polished when its ready for paint. But ya, a bunch of little steel wire brush's and many hours.
